The educational project "Agrokebety" has been changing Ukrainian agricultural education for four years in a row. Within the framework of the project, two graduations have already taken place, the number of universities involved in the project has grown to eight, and students in one stream annually - about a hundred. Now the future students of "Agrokebety" need your participation and help.
Students of the "Agrokebety" project receive the latest master's education at the agricultural university and educational and practical knowledge from guest lecturers:
top managers of Ukrainian business and professors of foreign universities, work with a mentor-practitioner from the staff of the participating companies of the project, undergo a six-month practice, where they perform the set tasks and very often receive job offers, immediately joining as professional and experienced workers.

russia's full-scale invasion on 24 February has created a new reality for both the country's agrarian business and agrarian education. Unfortunately, there is still a war going on in Ukraine. In six months of war, thousands of Ukrainians have been killed by russia's brutal invasion of Ukrainian land. Many Ukrainian agrarian universities are located in war zones and temporarily occupied territories. Their students and teachers suffer from daily bombardment and humanitarian problems.
Despite the difficult situation, all of us, with our team and students, continue to develop the "Agrokebety" educational project. We believe that Ukraine needs just such motivated, knowledgeable, experienced and educated agrarians. We know that the agricultural business is interested in such specialists, and we see, as you do, the critical shortage of such professional staff in companies.
The invasion has entailed a large number of internally displaced people, who have often left their lives under fire to hope for a new one. Among Ukrainians now, we are sure, there are a large number of future agricultural professionals, leading specialists in agricultural companies and modern farm managers. We just need to give them a chance to help them get a modern education in Ukraine and keep them from going abroad.
Ukraine's agricultural sector has shown consistently high growth in recent decades, both in terms of agricultural production and exports.
For example, in 2021 the gross harvest of grains, legumes and oilseeds in Ukraine amounted to more than 100 million tons, and exports in 2021-22 marketing year could exceed a record 50 million tons, equal to 30 billion USD in money equivalent.
Ukrainian farmers have begun to implement innovative approaches in crop and livestock production, improving production efficiency every year. Over the years, the Ukrainian agribusiness sector has become key to global food security, especially in poor countries in Asia and Africa. Launched in 2019, the "Agrokebety" educational project aimed to continue the successful development of Ukraine's agribusiness sector and provide agribusinesses with future farm managers.
The invasion has entailed a large number of internally displaced people, who have often left their lives under fire to hope for a new one. Among Ukrainians now, we are sure, there are a large number of future agricultural professionals, leading specialists in agricultural companies and modern farm managers. We just need to give them a chance to help them get a modern education in Ukraine and keep them from going abroad.

The war started by russia on 24 February destroyed all plans. The export-oriented Ukrainian agricultural sector is on the verge of survival, supporting the Ukrainian state in every possible way in the fight against the enemy and providing rural areas with jobs and income.
Due to limited exports and low liquidity, about 50% of Ukrainian farmers will be on the edge of survival this year. 30% of Ukraine's territory is temporarily occupied. Many farmers and family members have left these territories, leaving their businesses and enterprises there.
Of the eight partner universities of the "Agrokebety" educational project, four of them were forced to move to a new location, leaving the educational base and losing some of their teachers.
In particular, these are - Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University (SNU) - moved to Kamianets-Podilskyi, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (LTSNU) - moved to Poltava, Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University (KSAEU) – moved to Kropyvnytskyi and Dmytro Motornyi Tavria State Agrotechnological University (TSATU) – moved to Zaporizhzhia.
Two more universities - Sumy and Mykolaiv National Agrarian Universities are under constant fire. The premises of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University were fired upon and damaged by the occupiers. But, nevertheless, all these universities, thinking about the future of Ukraine, are going to implement the educational process and continue their participation in the educational project "Agrokebety".

In such difficult circumstances, it is indeed heroic for students and teachers alike to continue their work. Therefore, we - the initiators of the "Agrokebety"- are asking you to support the project by providing funds to provide scholarships for the best students of the "Agrokebety" educational project in the academic year 2022-23 in the amount of €200 per month (including fees and taxes).
The start of the fundraising campaign is 01 September 2022. The number of scholarships is 100 (up to 15 scholarships for "Agrokebety" students at each of the eight project partner universities). The total pool of scholarships is € 300,000.
Funds can be transferred in UAH, EUR and USD using the attached bank details.

Description of the scholarship program of the "Agrokebety" project
The Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club " (UCAB), with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, is pleased to offer scholarships to students of master's programs who are participants of the educational project "Agrokebety" at the eight universities participating in the educational project. This scholarship is an opportunity for students of the "Agrokebety", primarily for students from the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by russian troops, to study and receive a modern agricultural education at one of the eight agricultural universities in Ukraine.
Objective:
create conditions for the formation of a new generation of specialists with modern knowledge for the agricultural sector in particular and the economy of Ukraine as a whole;
provide access to quality master's education to the best and most motivated students and provide them with conditions for learning;
provide students with the specific practical skills necessary to start a career in agribusiness through individual mentoring of top management companies, open lectures, discussions and team-project activities.
Who is eligible for the scholarship:
Students of the 2022-23 academic year of "Agrokebety" educational project who are citizens of Ukraine and are studying in the Master's programme "Administrative Management" at NUBiP of Ukraine or in the Master's programme "Agronomy" at the other partner universities of the project on a full-time basis.

Monthly scholarship : 200 Euro equivalent in UAH at the official exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), including taxes and fees according to the legislation of Ukraine. The scholarship is paid per semester, based on the results of each semester.
The maximum amount of scholarship that one student can receive for the whole period of study: 3.000 Euro in UAH equivalent according to the official exchange rate of the NBU, including taxes and fees.
Planned number of scholarships: 100 scholarships are planned (up to 15 scholarships for successful "Agrokebety" students at each of the eight project partner universities).
Who will receive the scholarship:
Successful students of the "Agrokebety" educational project 2022-23, based on the ranking conducted by the project management on the basis of the results of each academic term.
Criteria for the selection of students by rating for the payment of a scholarship (per semester):
1. academic achievement (total points based on the results of the session)
2. level of proficiency in English (according to test results)
3. proactive participation in the "Agrokebety" project (storytelling in social media about student's learning experience in the project, namely the number of publications and their coverage, participation in announced contests and events, etc.)
4. motivational report about student's experience in the "Agrokebety" project at the end of each semester (in essay format, at least 200 words)
5. attending lectures and practical classes (at least 80%)
6. financial situation (including children of those who died in the war, the status of an internally displaced person, etc.)

The "Agrokebety" educational project was initiated by Alex Lissitsa in 2019 and is implemented by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB) on the basis of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. The aim of the project is to train a new generation of farm managers for the needs of modern agribusiness.
